How to calculate resistor value using colour code ( for beginner )

You can find resistor value of some 5 watt and above has written on that resistor . Some resistor of 1/8 watt , 1/4 watt, 1/2 watt , 1 watt & 2 watt has marked with four, five or six different colour without written its value.

How to calculate the value of that resistor ?

Its very easy !!

>>> Resistor with  4 Colour band.

Some resistor has four different colour band, 1st band denotes its first Digit of value , 2nd band denotes its second digit of value, 3rd band denotes multiplying factor and 4th band denotes its tolerance.

Colour Code Table for 4 colour band

Most important its 3rd Band colour .

Example 1 : Third Band colour Silver (x0.01 ohm).
1st Band (#) --- 2nd Band (#) --- 3rd Band ( Silver ) --- 4th Band (±T%)

= ## x0.01 ±T%
= 0.## ohm ±T%

Example 2 : Third Band colour Golden(x0.1 ohm).
1st Band (#) --- 2nd Band (#) --- 3rd Band ( Golden ) --- 4th Band (±T%)

= ## x0.1 ±T%
= #.# ohm ±T%

Example 3 : Third Band colour Black(x1 ohm).
1st Band (#) --- 2nd Band (#) --- 3rd Band ( Black ) --- 4th Band (±T%)

= ## x1 ±T%
